How I Started:
As a nurse I have been around unhealthy people for over 20 years of every age, race, gender, and size.
Through this journey I gained a clear understanding on how critical nutrition can be to one’s health. I soon realized I was in that same category of being unhealthy due to my nutritional choices and bad habits as these type of choices impacts people of any shape and size. I decided to embark on a journey of gaining knowledge, understanding, and practicing a healthy lifestyle.
Although people get sick for various reasons, unhealthy nutritional practices should not be one of them. In fact, nutrition can play a role in minimizing and avoiding many health issues, it can also play a role in recovery situations. Due to this self-realization and passion for helping people I decided to become a nutritional coach and got certified. Now I not only help people as a nurse, but I am able to help people avoid health complications due to bad nutrition and poor habits. Through my journey I have been “skinny fat” and “Normal Fat” all in my quest to becoming healthy, happy, energetic, and living life to the fullest. I realized that a diet is not for me, my success was achieved by gaining nutritional knowledge and using that knowledge to establish a balance between healthy choices and consistent habits. Through my journey I have tried many diets which all failed as they were not sustainable. As my goal was to get healthy and remain healthy, I knew that a diet was not going to make me successful long term, I needed to rethink my approach and make sure that whatever I implemented would be sustainable for the rest of my life. Healthy nutrition does not mean bad food, low calories and starving yourself. If you establish the right balance and understand nutrition, you can eat delicious food. I am now 10 years into this journey, and I can say I am living my best life without ever being in a diet. Success: As nutrition is a core part of my life now it has allowed me to compete in 2 bikini competitions for which I am very proud as I would have never of imagined such an accomplishment 10 years ago. I don’t shy away from 2-piece bathing suits anymore.
I am also and active cross-fitter and attend religiously and love to hike and run when I feel the need for some fresh air. This has all been provided to me because I made a wise decision to understand nutrition and the importance of establishing good habits. This journey has allowed me to help others achieve their own health goals with nutrition and habits at the core. Let me help you be the best you.
